Andres Calderon is the Chair of the Academic Law Department of Universidad del Pacifico (Peru) and Director of the Legal Clinic for the Defense of Freedom of Information and Transparency. He is also an associate researcher for the Center for Studies on Freedom of Expression and Access to Information at Universidad de Palermo (Argentina). Andres is a member of the Ethics Tribunal of the Peruvian Press Council. Before dedicating to academia, he worked as a journalist and was the editor in chief of El Comercio (Peru’s oldest newspaper). His research is focused on Freedom of Expression, Media Law, Intermediary Liability, Content Moderation and Competition Law in connection with information and news markets.
Andres holds a Master of Laws degree from Yale Law School and a Law degree from Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru. He also is a former Fulbright scholar.
